2022 is a very different and difficult year for everyone. Many students cannot travel home to see family and friends for the Easter break due to quarantine restrictions, or because of the Ukraine and Russia conflict.
In order to help students who need a place to stay over Easter but can’t find anywhere due to the lack of available host families, we decided to collaborate with Holiday Inn to provide students a fully inclusive accommodation option that takes place in a beautiful hotel in East London.
Our first group of students who arrived on 30 March
The hotel option includes either an en-suite single or shared room with twin beds, 3 meals every day, and facilities such as the gym! It is a perfect opportunity for students to make friends outside of their schools, to study in a calm quiet environment, and to explore the wonderful London city.

In addition to the usual hotel reception staff, a CGA staff member will be on-site to provide supervision, activities and an emergency contact day and night. Staffing levels are 1:7, which means 1 helper covers 7 students. Support with exceptional tutors is also available as Easter is the key revision period for GCSE and A-Level students.

We have secretly put an Easter egg in each student’s room prior to their arrival. They all loved the surprise! 
Most students are staying till the end of April and they are all having a wonderful time. They are all from different schools but due to their lovely nature, they are all best friends already, spending every day together going out, playing games and studying together.

We as staff are gaining a lot from this opportunity too. It is the perfect chance to spend quality time out of school with each student and facilitate what they want to do in terms of living as a Londoner – for a few weeks.
